Vet Organics™ Shampoos

Vet Organics shampoos are designed for frequent, even daily use for dogs and cats over 8 weeks of age. They are tough enough to be used as an organic alternative to conventional medicated shampoos, but gentle enough to be used as grooming shampoos to maintain healthy skin.

All of the shampoos in the Vet Organics line use a base which is an organic oil combination of coconut, olive, and jojoba, chosen to provide a safe, chemical-free vehicle to deliver specific healing oils and because they gently moisturize the pet’s skin and hair. All shampoos are recommended for dogs & cats over 8 weeks of age.

Mint Shampoo

The Mint Shampoo contains BOTH organic peppermint AND organic spearmint, something unique to mint shampoos (others contain just peppermint.) Both oils were chosen for their healing properties (pain relief, calming, anti-inflammatory/cooling, antibacterial, antifungal, anti-parasitic) and to produce a fresh, pleasing fragrance. It is a great general purpose shampoo for all pets over 8 weeks of age, specifically for owners who prefer a mint fragrance rather than a citrus fragrance. It is also the only shampoo in the Vet Organics TM line that does not contain tea tree oil (for those owners who prefer not to use tea tree oil shampoos on their pets.) 16 oz. bottle.

All-in-One Shampoo

The All-in-One Shampoo contains citrus oils (repels insects, anti-parasitic, antibacterial, anti-fungal, pain relief) and tea tree (antibacterial, anti-fungal) oils. Like the mint shampoo, it is a great general purpose shampoo for dogs and cats over 8 weeks of age, specifically for owners who prefer a citrus fragrance. 16 oz. bottle.

Flea and Tick Shampoo

The Flea and Tick Shampoo contains lemongrass (repels insects, anti-parasitic, antibacterial, anti-fungal, pain relief) and neem (repels insects, anti-parasitic, anti-fungal) oils. It is an organic alternative to chemical flea and tick shampoos for dogs & cats over 8 weeks of age. 16 oz. bottle.

Itch Relief Shampoo

The Itch Relief Shampoo contains aloe vera (wound healing, anti-itching, antibacterial, cooling to the skin, immune system stimulation) and lavender (antibacterial, pain relief, calming effect, insect repelling, relief from itching, antibacterial) oils. It is the shampoo of choice for pets with allergies or other skin conditions (pyoderma, Malasseziasis, ringworm, various forms of mange, etc.) 16 oz. bottle.

Efficacy

Vet Organics shampoos were developed after extensive research. The shampoos have been clinically proven to work in most pets when used as directed. Vet Organics shampoos can be used with conventional medications (such as orally or parenterally administered antimicrobials for skin infections and corticosteroids for atopic dermatitis,) or other natural therapies (herbs and nutraceuticals) as needed to allowing healing of diseased and damaged skin. Since no product can be expected to be effective in 100% of patients, rarely another shampoo will need to be prescribed in the event that a Vet Organics shampoo is not efficacious. For pets with severe dermatological conditions, it may be prudent to use a medicated shampoo initially to put the disease into remission and use a Vet Organics shampoo for maintenance therapy.

Vet Organics shampoos can also be used for normal grooming and maintenance purposes.

While some of the shampoos have been developed for specific purposes (the Herbal Flea & Tick Shampoo is formulated to control fleas and ticks; the Herbal Itch Relief Shampoo is formulated to control itching and infection in pets,) they can be used interchangeably. For example, the Herbal Mint Shampoo can be used for the treatment of fleas and ticks, skin infections, or atopic dermatitis for owners who prefer the mint fragrance. For pets with chronic dermatitis, regular, even daily use is indicated to keep the dermatitis under control.

Safety

All of the Vet Organics shampoos are safe when used as directed. In the event of skin sensitivity (which may be manifested by redness or itching,) the shampoo should be rinsed off of the pet and another product chosen.

Contraindications

Pets with known susceptibility to any of the ingredients in Vet Organics shampoos should not be bathed with Vet Organics shampoos.

Side Effects

To date, there have been no reports of side effects when pets are bathed as directed with Vet Organics shampoos.
